How to spot a fake job or scholarship advert

Red flags

• You are asked to pay to apply, for "processing", a "visa", training or uniform.
• The offer arrives before you applied, or the interview happens only in chat.
• The email comes from a free address that does not match the organisation's name.
• The salary or benefits look too good to be true, or details are vague.

How to check

• Find the organisation's official website yourself and look for the same advert there.
• Phone the main number listed on the official site, not the one in the message.
• Search the organisation's name together with the word "scam".
