Interview preparation: the STAR method

Interviewers often ask behavioural questions. STAR keeps your answers clear and short.

• Situation: set the scene in one or two sentences.
• Task: what were you responsible for?
• Action: what did you do, step by step?
• Result: what changed? Use numbers if you can.

Prepare four or five stories (a challenge, teamwork, a mistake you fixed, a time you led) and adapt them to the question. Research the organisation, prepare two questions to ask them, and arrive early.
